It’s All In The Detail

Doing what I do does involve fine tuning and intricate detail at times. I know it may look like a huge slab of concrete, but there are literally hours of hand carving and scraping and adding and taking away to bring about the finished result that I need.

Concrete is such a flexible and amazing medium to work in, and when you’ve had as many years working with it as I have, you get used to its sometimes slippery ways!

Making sure it’s the right mixture and texture, that it’s setting properly and in the right way. One thing that really doesn’t help is the British weather and storm Babet really didn’t help matters!

Working against the elements brings it’s own challenges, and what many people don’t realise is that my work is dependant on other tradespeople and creators, and there are others waiting to start their part in the project once I’m finished, so storm or no storm - the show (and the concrete) must go on!
