Crafted Artificial Rock Environments
Our artificial rock structures are constructed using reinforced steel armatures and mesh frameworks which are coated with glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC). Once the structural shell is formed, the surface is hand carved and detailed to replicate the geological textures found in natural rock formations.
Where appropriate, expanded polystyrene (EPS) forms may be used to efficiently create complex shapes and volumes before the final sculpted surface is applied.
This process allows rock environments to be created in locations where natural stone would be impractical due to weight, safety or structural limitations.
