Environmental Agency
Flood Defence Walls, Penwortham
At Unreal Productions, we were proud to deliver a bespoke architectural finishing project for the UK Environment Agency in Penwortham, Preston, enhancing the visual impact of newly constructed flood defence walls. The original structure—a historic gas pipe bridge crossing the river—featured distinctive natural stonework that contributed to the character of the surrounding environment. However, the new concrete flood defences lacked this aesthetic quality. Our brief was to replicate the appearance of the existing stonework and seamlessly integrate the new structures into their natural and historical setting.
Using advanced carving techniques and specialist concrete finishing, we designed and installed a highly detailed concrete fascia that authentically mirrors the texture, tone, and pattern of the original stone bridge. The result is a durable, weather-resistant solution that transforms plain concrete walls into visually striking features that complement the riverside landscape. This project highlights Unreal Productions’ expertise in decorative concrete, stone replication, and public realm enhancements across the UK, delivering functional infrastructure solutions without compromising on visual appeal.
